Arc12 the best yet?

Our space at Arc this year may have been reconfigured and slightly smaller, but the Arc experience seemed better than ever! We were definitely busier this year with some very interesting visitors. Main area of interest seemed to be split between the new LED wardrobe rail system and the downlight display on top of the desk at the front of the stand.
The downlights featured were a sample of the Endo Vivid range - with added red LEDs to give fresh meat and vegetables a real zing - an Endo 14W 2700K fitting and the two new Crescent downlights. The Crescent fittings, a 10W fixed unit and a 20W adjustable one both use Bridgelux LED modules, have a selection of beam spreads and white colour options. They are manufactured in the UK and we found the quantity prices we were quoting to visitors got a very favourable reaction. These units are suitable for most retail applications and almost anywhere else a conventional 35W or 50W tungsten halogen downlight would have been used.
The LED wardrobe rail (see above left) is a purpose designed system, using the industry standard 15 x 30mm extruded rail with a clever 8 degree angle tilt on the LED board which prevents any glare to the user but still give an excellent wash of light on the hangers below with the help of the polycarbonate diffusing cover. There are a number of accessories, wall and centre brackets of course, and a couple of really useful concealed switch options, so the lights are only on when you want them to be. Various standard lengths are available all selected around standard wardrobe carcass sizes.
The public reaction to this system was gratifying, showing that a piece of lighting kit that has a dedicated purpose, but that executes that in an effective and subtle way will always have a place in the crowded LED lighting market.
Quite a few other products were on show, the new 250W tungsten halogen fibre optic projector, new LED 600 x 600 interior fitting and a super LED flood light from Endo and some of the excellent Side LED range.
It was good meet up with old friends and share a glass of wine on the Wednesday evening in the usual 'relaxed' Arc atmosphere. Looking forward to next year already!
